Description[]

Snipers can be offensive and support class as they attack from long range with Sniper rifles which all have very high accuracy. Aim for the head for quick kills!

Sniper's big weakness is low health. In previous games he had light armor so he wasn't very effective on close combat. This time, ability to use Experimentals (weapons very powerful on short range) helps him with that. Still, these weapons are poor choice unless it's a DSR1 and the Rail Gun. Rail Gun has high accuracy and range, and acts as a Sniper rifle. Therefore it's the best choice for Snipers, even better than most of actual sniper rifles.

Strategies[]

As[]

Snipers should play far from close or regular combat as he is easily overwhelmed by Elites and Juggernauts in closer encounters. When you play as one, keep the range between you and your enemies to either point blank or sniper range, as you have almost no reliable defense at mid range. As a Sniper, focus on taking out Mercenaries first as they are your "counter". Mercenaries with Ghost Weapon can easily vanquish you in just a few hits up close. Betsy can get tons of hits at you while you are attempting to reload your weapon and many Machine Guns that they use often counter Sniper's fire rate. You should also be wary of nearby Ninjas with Chameleon trait as they can surprise you up close and take you out quickly. Ninjas with Smoke bomb killstreak are especially a problem as they can land close to your location, whereas Snipers don't have much of a speed boost to get away from them.

In most situations, Snipers work best when they are at high ground. Their aimbot and wall hack killstreaks can easily allow them to pick against enemies from far away at a safe distance, giving them a huge advantage. However, sometimes, you should use your killstreaks as a last resort as some gamemodes consist of more important objectives.

Against[]

When fighting against against a Sniper, it's important to take cover and make surprise attacks. Attempt to fire quick shots at him to confuse him so that your teammates can deal more damage to him than he can to them. Ninjas have the biggest advantage when it comes to fighting against Snipers by themselves as they can take them out quickly within close ranges. However, if they are exposed while fighting against other enemies, Snipers can take them out much faster as they are suited for long ranged battles. Engineers and Mercenaries with Explosive Weapons can counter Snipers at mid-range as they cannot withstand an explosive strike and will just about be wiped out in a single hit. In addition, Engineers can place Shotgun Turrets or Rocket Sentries in hidden places if a Sniper is attempting to get to a hidden objective as they do not have that much of a speed boost to get away from these stationary weapons. Gunslingers can do critical damage against Snipers that are busy trying to shoot at other targets.

Capture the Flag[]

Snipers can be very useful as defensive soldiers in Capture the Flag mode, if the map is perfect. Stay somewhere safe and snipe enemies to protect you teammate who carries a flag. But never go alone to capture the flag, you will probably get killed on the way back because of your low health, and you can't use SMGs which help the most as a sidearm for running away from enemies.

Killstreaks[]

Sniper can use 2 killstreaks:

Aim Bot - Each shot counts as headshot for 6 seconds.

Wall Hack - Shoot through solid objects with any of your weapons for 8 seconds. Also used by Jyn, the unique hero.
