The SMAWG is an Explosive Weapon and the first one to be available for play.

Appearance[]

SMAWG is a traditional rocket launcher, including a long rocket tube with accessories attached. It has a green-grey color tone, two vertical grips (with one of them being bandaged), and a small foregrip-like object sticking out of its back. Multiple pure grey stripes can be seen along the length of the tube, as well as a gold color stripe at the end of it, finished with a sight similar to guns normally have.

Description[]

The SMAWG rocket launcher is a powerful, single-shot weapon that is available early in the game. Its unguided missiles pack a high damage output, capable of taking down enemies with a single shot, even those of higher levels when upgraded. While the SMAWG has average accuracy compared to other rocket launchers, it compensates with an incredibly high projectile speed, second only to Bennett's Doom, a custom weapon with instant rocket speed.

However, the SMAWG's primary drawback is that it lacks homing missiles, making it a dumb-fire launcher similar to other rocket launchers. Despite this, the SMAWG's raw damage output and high projectile speed make it a valuable addition to any arsenal.

It is the default weapon for the Mercenary class.

Pros[]

  • Highest alpha damage out of all Explosives, capable of incinerating their targets within one shot.
  • Shoot unguided rockets with an extremely fast velocity.
  • Great range as a rocket launcher.
  • Rockets are capable of inflicting AoE damage, having the ability to finish off running away enemies by shooting on nearby grounds.
  • Acceptable accuracy.
  • Is a Basic weapon; unlocks at the start of the game without the need of fighting for blueprints.

Cons[]

  • Mediocre reload time, fire rate and in-clip ammo capacity due to being an one-shot rocket launcher.
  • High alpha damage sometimes backfire on yourself if shooting on an enemy capable of deflecting ammunitions such as a Naut.
  • Is an Explosive; carries risk of suicidal if not used carefully.


Overview[]

The SMAWG is a starter weapon, but that doesn't mean you need to replace it early. It has high damage, and while it doesn't have guided missiles, great projectile speed makes up or it. It's low RoF makes it a problem in many close-range engagements. This can be easily remedied by equipping the Drum Mag attachment. Due to the Drum Mag glitch, you won't have to reload and you will have infinite rockets! SMAWG's high projectile speed makes it hard to dodge them, unlike the Panzer and M202.

SMAWG shouldn't be used at close ranges, because its somewhat large blast radius can severely damage or kill the player. The SMAWG is best used with an automatic secondary weapon such as the Vector or Blades (best is possibly Katana) as you can slice and deflect projectiles with it. The SMAWG is better suited for mid-to-long ranges.

Trivia[]

  • The SMAWG seems to be based on the real-life missile launcher SMAW (Mk. 153 Shoulder-launched Multipurpose Assault Weapon) that is in service with the USMC.
  • It seems to be the successor to the RPG in Strike Force Heroes 1 and 2. Like the RPG, the SMAWG is not a homing weapon.
  • The SMAWG's appearance is based on the model seen in Call of Duty: Black Ops II, albeit with the FHJ-18's targeting system.
  • SMAWG may be a reference to the name of the dragon in The Hobbit trilogy named Smaug.
