DSR1 is an Experimental Weapon.

Appearance[]

The DSR1 is a futuristic-looking sniper rifle that does not look similar to its real life counterpart. It fires white spherical projectiles instead of regular bullets. The refined version of this weapon adds a blue computer sight to the side of the barrel.

Description[]

The DSR1 has a good rate of fire and high accuracy. Its projectiles are affected by gravity and bounce off of solid objects. The DSR1 also deals the most damage out of the Experimental weapons. However, it is the only Experimental to not inflict a status effect. Like other Experimental weapons, it has no spare ammo so it cannot reload.

Overview[]

Unlike most of the Experimental weapons, the DSR1 is actually a great weapon for a Sniper to use besides the Rail Gun. Its long range makes combat at such ranges easy. However, make sure to aim high at those ranges to account for the arc of the projectile. Elites can also use the DSR1 decently well at close range unlike Snipers due to their significantly higher health. Using the Burst Module attachment can make this weapon a whole lot more oppressive. Overall, the DSR1's superior damage and range more than makes up for a lack of a status effect.

Trivia[]

  • The DSR1 also appeared in Strike Force Heroes 2 as a sniper rifle. It is a sniper rifle in real life too.
  • This weapon is possibly a modified version of that rifle, with grenades added to increase impact. They have a similar shape.
  • This weapon is based off the M41A Pulse Rifle in the James Cameron film Aliens.
